Principal’s Update

Principal’s Update

Dear Parent / Carer,

Term 3 has certainly been a busy one for our school and others throughout the state. We’re happy to say that working together, Glenmore Park High School staff and our students and families, made it through what has been a constantly changing and often difficult Term. We could not have done it without the commitment from all of our families who supported learning from home, and from our fantastic teaching and school staff. I want to thank you all for your efforts to continue to keep our school community safe – I know everyone has faced different challenges at different times throughout the Term.

I would really like to commend the efforts of our students who have continued to remain engaged in their learning and have shown us their wonderful resilience throughout this term. It is great to see how creatively they can approach their learning tasks.

I hope everyone enjoys a break over the holidays and all are looking forward to the COVID-safe return to school sites that we are planning for in Term 4. Please read through the following updates and don’t hesitate to reach out for support or with any questions.

Return to school roadmap for Term 4:

In Term 4, where stay-at-home rules are still in place but high community vaccination and low transmission conditions are met, students will return to school in a staggered approach for prioritised cohorts, with no mingling or on-site activities. Masks will be required on site for all staff and students Year 7 and above, indoors and outdoors.

Order of return under staggered approach in Term 4:

Students will remain learning from home for the beginning of Term 4 with a return to face-to-face learning, with NSW Health-approved COVID-safe Level 3 plus settings on school sites, in the following order:

From 1 November 2021: Year 11 will begin to return

From 8 November 2021: Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 will begin a staggered return

Year 12 please monitor your google classroom for all updates.

The return to school roadmap is subject to change depending on new information expected through the Public Health Order and additional advice from NSW Health. You can stay up to date with the most recent advice on our Advice for families page.

On 9 November: Year 12 will begin their HSC exams.

School Photo Update:

The photos have arrived in the school and have been sorted ready to distribute as soon as our students begin their return. We did not post them as there were concerns regarding damage in transit or even getting lost.

NAPLAN

Student NAPLAN reports have arrived this week and Year 7 have been posted out today. Year 9 will be posted in the first week of Term 4.

Again I would like to thank you all for your wonderful support. The lovely messages to staff from students and families have really been appreciated.

I wish all our families a safe holiday period.

Take care.

Ms Gorick- Principal
