Curriclum Resources

In TAS, students use a range of tools, materials and techniques in the design process and technological experiences through theory and practical lessons. 

The continuum of technology learning is:

  • based on students becoming increasingly sophisticated in their ability to design and produce solutions for authentic needs and opportunities

  • an option for student specialisation in high school through a range of syllabuses addressing particular technologies and aspects of design.

Technological Mandatory is compulsory for all students in Year 7 and 8. 

The courses we deliver in Years 9 –10 (Stage 5) in TAS for 2022 are:

  • Food Technology
  • Industrial Technology - Timber
  • Industrial Technology - Metals
  • Industrial Technology - Textiles
  • Information and Software Technology

The TAS faculty is proud to be delivering iSTEM in year 9.

The key elements of the iSTEM program are

  • Use of projectand problem-based learning as well as enquiry based learning strategies;
  • Emphasis on enterprise skills such as; complex problem solving, teamwork, communication, negotiation, and creativity;
  • Connected real-world learning, including industry contextualisation;
  • Team teaching and flipped classroom approaches to teaching and learning
