Principal's Update 20/5/2020

Principal’s Update-

On Monday 25th May all students will be returning to school fulltime. Students will be engaging in their normal 5 period day timetable and this will be with their regular teachers, face to face. Students will need to provide a medical certificate if they are precluded from returning due to a health condition or treatment.

The staff at Glenmore Park High School are looking forward to having our students return to their regular timetable and are looking forward to engaging with their students in the face-to-face teaching model.

Our school operations will be in line with the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) and Health guidelines as applicable.

The school has resources in all areas to ensure these guidelines can be adhered to. These include hand sanitiser, students are encouraged to bring their own if possible, disinfectant sprays and cloths, antibacterial wipes and liquid soap.

We will continue to discuss good hygiene practices with students regarding-

·         Regularly washing hands

·         Avoiding sharing food or drinks

·         Coughing or sneezing into their elbow, or into a tissue and then disposing of this in the bin immediately.

It would be appreciated if our families could discuss with their children, the absolute necessity for these practices to be adhered at all times.

All students should be in attendance unless they have a medical certificate stating they are currently unable to return due to an ongoing medical condition or they are currently unwell.

Students and staff are to remain at home if they are sick. Please let the school know by replying to the SMS message or phone the office to let them know of your child’s absence.

If students become unwell during the day, parents/carer will be contacted to collect the student. If they can’t be reached the emergency contact will be contacted. Please ensure all details are up to date with our office.

As you would appreciate there will be a range of procedures that are currently being finalised to be in place for the return on Monday that are subject specific. These include, PDHPE, Sport, TAS, Science and high surface touch activities. We will continue to keep you, and our students updated on these.

I will have further communication out to you before the end of this week but wanted to let you all know that we are all looking forward to Monday and catching up further with our students.

As always, thank you for your support throughout this challenging period.

Stay safe and well

L Gorick
